I am a criminal defense attorney practicing in State and Federal Courts and own/manage my firm. I love the opportunity I have to help people and have a positive impact on their life. I feel fortunate to have found what I love, what I was meant to do and that I make a difference.

I grew up here in North Carolina and attended the University Of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While at Chapel Hill, I majored in Economics, served as a student congress representative, competed as a student athlete on UNC's equestrian team and trained and competed my own horses independently (and was fortunate to work teaching riding lessons to support my habit). After college I trained and competed full time in Dressage and combined training/three day eventing (through Fourth and Preliminary levels, respectively). I then returned to school at Wake Forest University School of Law where I developed my passion for trial work and criminal defense. Although I came to Winston-Salem originally for law school, it has become my home and where I am raising my family of six (including one German Shepherd who is definitely one of the kids). I am grateful to have been recognized by my peers on Martindale-Hubbell as an AV Preeminent rated attorney in my field and serve as Vice-President of the Forsyth County Criminal Defense and Trial Attorneys Association. I enjoy sports, spending time with my family, serving on the advisory board for my girls' school, cooking and exercising.

Starting and running my law practice and becoming one of only 70 Board Certified Specialists in Federal and State Criminal Law in the North Carolina State Bar.

There is nothing that can take the place of hard work, determination and looking it up for yourself

My biggest challenge is balancing a very demanding career that I love with the family that I love.
