2016: An Exciting Year for the Professional Women of Winston-Salem!

Happy New Year from PWWS! We are thrilled to announce some of the plans we have made for the Professional Women of Winston-Salem. We have a lot in store for 2016—you won’t want to miss out!

Discovering Yourself is the theme of 2016. What does this mean? It means we have a LOT of exciting things going on to help you discover yourself and be the best YOU that you can be.

Some of the topics will include:  a fun, interactive workshop on public speaking, financial planning for women, lessons learned from a male-dominated corporate America, tips on careers, Novant Health Healthcare Panel and a return visit from the very popular Jacque Daniels who will detail her career path to an executive level position at Novant Health!

May will be our very popular networking event that is sure to bring new personal and business acquaintances into your life, as well as give you the opportunity to promote your own business.

Becoming Your Best Self: the DiSC Behavioral Profile

The DiSC Behavioral Profile will be free for all of our members this year! A fabulous member perk!

What IS the DiSc Behavioral Profile?

The foundation of personal and professional success lies in understanding yourself, understanding others, and realizing the impact you have on others. In this session, we will look at ourselves through the lens of the DiSC® Behavioral Profile.  DiSC helps people discover their unique styles across four primary dimensions:  dominance, influence, steadiness, and conscientiousness.

Participants will take the instrument online prior to the program and will receive a detailed style report. One-on-one coaching is available afterward for those who want to explore their styles, and the implications thereof, more deeply.

Attendees should expect some insights into themselves and others, wrapped up in an energetic, lighthearted session!

Linda will be attending our February meeting to introduce the DiSC assessment.  She will then be our speaker for March explaining what the results mean.  Additionally, she will offer discounted follow-up sessions with her to continue understanding your personal DiSC results.

Member Mondays

Every Monday, we’ll be sharing a member profile on our Facebook and instagram pages. Another perk for our members to get a bit of exposure on social media. Speaking of social media, have you liked us on Facebook and followed us on instagram? What are you waiting for?

Jobs

We have created a jobs board on our website! Members can post as many job openings as they’d like at no cost! Looking for a job or looking to post a job opening? Click here!

Special Events

This year, PWWS has an entire committee dedicated to planning special events for our members! How awesome is that? We’ll have at least one special event every quarter.

Silent Auction

Our BIG special event of 2016 will be our silent auction. On the evening of Saturday, February 27th, we’ll be having a silent auction with all proceeds going towards our scholarship fund. You can learn more about our scholarship fund and donate directly to our scholarship fund HERE. The silent auction will be a fun-filled evening with lots of food, drinks, a 50/50 raffle, photo booth and more. This event is not just for PWWS members, it is open to the public… bring your husband…your mom…your sister…your best friend… everyone is welcome! You can purchase your tickets HERE (early bird tickets last until February 10th).

Image Fair

This will be our 3rd annual image fair. During our June meeting, we’ll have vendors set up to help you with your professional image. Everything from a headshot photographer to a resume writer—and much more!

Additional special events are in the works and will be announced as they are planned. But go ahead and get excited for special events that include volunteering, networking, bonding and having FUN with your fellow PWWS members.

If you are currently a member, I look forward to seeing you at our next meeting!

If you are not a member but would like to give PWWS a try, we’d love to have you join us at our next meeting as a guest. We encourage guests to attend 1-2 meetings before joining. Guests can register for our meetings on our website and if you have any questions regarding signing up for a meeting, please email membership@pwws.org.

Membership is $95 per year and includes a profile on our website, access to our monthly meetings and special events, and this year, includes the DiSC assessment (valued at $37).

Please feel free to contact our president, Brooke Eagle brooke@pwws.org or our membership chairs Ashley Dawson and Erin McNeil, membership@pwws.org with any questions or feedback. They would love to hear from you!

Cheers to 2016!!
