2015 Kick-Off Luncheon in Review

We had a fabulous turn out, nearly 100 women, last week at our 2015 kick-off luncheon!

The Club was warm with lots of chatter from old and new friends.  Members and guests joined us as we kicked off what will be an incredible year.  There is a big focus on our members this year as we seek to add value and create opportunities for our members to learn more about one another and to connect with common concerns and interests.

We launched our first two Mastermind groups, a concept shared from our Marketing Chair, Elizabeth Lucas-Averett. The concept is quite simple.  Women with common concerns meet together to share advice with one another on how they are overcoming challenges and pose questions for issues that they may be facing where they have yet to find an answer.  If these groups find that their time together is beneficial, they will continue to meet to check in and discuss recent successes and stressors.

We also launched our NEW WEBSITE!!  Ladies that choose to join PWWS as members will have the benefit of a beautiful new profile page that will allow them to share their story, advice, and provide additional links for others to learn more.  Anyone that visits their profile has the ability to share our amazing women with others through social media channels.    The site will also provide a more user friendly experience when reviewing our upcoming meetings and registering for events.  We are over the moon about the new site and all of it’s capabilities!

Most importantly, Novant Health and Dr. David Bohle, joined us this month to share the truth about obtaining and maintaining heart health.  The heart is this beautiful organ that pumps warm nutrient rich blood to and from our organs giving us the ability to go and do all of the wonderful things that we do each and every day.  Dr. Bohle shared with us five SIMPLE tips to keep our hearts healthy.

1)  Don’t smoke or use tobacco products

2) Exercise for 30 minutes 5 times a week

3)  Eat a heart healthy Mediterranean style diet

4)  Maintain a healthy weight

5)  Know your numbers; Blood pressure, Cholesterol levels, BMI, Glucose, Waist Circumference, etc.
