Scholarship Program

As professional women, we are excited and pleased to offer this program to deserving women seeking to improve their lives and the lives of their children through advancing their education and preparing for a professional career.
Please consider your eligibility or the eligibility of someone you know (qualifying students may apply for more than one semester).
Eligibility
To be eligible, candidates must:
- Be a Forsyth County resident.
- Be a single working mother, at least 25 years of age, going back to school.
- Be employed and working at least 10 hours per week.
- Be enrolled in an accredited institution degree program offering an AA, BA or BS (or equivalent) degree.
- Have a minimum GPA of 2.8 (cumulative).
- Be able to attend and give an acceptance speech at the PWWS luncheon on August 8, 2012.
Selection Process
To be selected, the criteria that will be used include:
- How successfully the applicant met all eligibility requirements.
- The financial need established by the Financial Aid office of the school based on the applicant's FAFSA.
- The applicant having a stated career direction or commitment.
- The applicant's completed application packet, letter of reference and personal statement.

Rebecca Sidden
December 2004 recipient - Forsyth Technical Community College
After graduation: Desires to teach at a community college after receiving a bachelors degree in English and computer technologies. She hopes to be an inspiration to her daughters and other single mothers by showing them that dreams can come true through education.
Joy Truluck
December 2002 recipient - Salem College.
After graduation: Wants to enroll in a Masters in Regional Planning program at UNC-CH.
Vicki Sergeant Moser
Fall 2002 recipient - Forsyth Technical Community College.
After graduation: Aspires to work as a nurse and then continue her education to earn her Baccalaureate of Science degree in nursing.
Christie Canty
December 2001 recipient - Forsyth Technical Community College.
After graduation: Desires to become a child psychologist because she has always wanted to help children.
Linda Evans
December 2000 recipient - Forsyth Technical Community College.
After graduation: Strives to be a role model for her daughter to let her know how important it is to have an education and be self supporting.
