About Paula: Paula J. Swindle, MA, NCC, LPC, is a Licensed Professional Counselor at Forsyth Medical Center Heart and Wellness. A graduate of Wake Forest University and Appalachian State University, Paula has worked in many areas of mental health, including youth and family therapy, crisis assessment and counseling, addictions, inpatient psychiatry and smoking cessation. She has spent the past five years working with cardiac and pulmonary patients emphasizing stress reduction and relaxation.  She is also a freelance writer, with numerous articles in publications such as Living with Teenagers and Livestrong.com.
