January Luncheon with Marcia Barney of Northwestern Toastmasters Group

Marcia Barney with Northwestern Toastmasters Group will speak on how Toastmasters can help improve your speaking, listening and thinking abilities.

Marcia Barney is the owner and managing partner of B & B Homes, a residential construction company.  She and her husband are avid ballroom dancers.  She has served in numerous leadership roles with Toastmasters International including President of a top 10 club in Toastmasters and one of the top 6 District Governors in the World during her year as District Governor.  She has published several articles in the "Toastmaster" magazine and is a recipient of a Presidential Citation for her work with the organization.

  Marcia joined Toastmasters in order to improve her ability to make technical presentations as part of her responsibilities as a chemist for Eastman Chemical Products in Kingsport, Tennessee.  She found that Toastmasters helped her achieve that goal as well as improving all aspects of her communications and leadership abilities.  Her presentation will cover ways the Toastmasters organization can assist others in improving their speaking, listening, and thinking abilities.
